COTTAGE GROVE, Minnesota – The nonprofit Rise won a Life Enrichment Award from the Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation, or MOHR, for their Art Speaks class.
Art Speaks is a program designed to empower Minnesotans with disabilities express themselves through art. The class serves more than 200 people across all Rise locations.
The Art Speaks creations have been featured on display across the region at coffee shops, government offices and art galleries.
Rise helps people with disabilities find employment, housing and self-sufficiency. The organization has 23 locations, including one in Cottage Grove at the Washington County Service Center community services office.
MOHR advocates and supports people with disabilities and their communities.
